Why Join The Team?
Please see below for some first hand comments from our staff on being part of the team at KordaMentha.

"When applying for graduate positions across a wide variety of disciplines I had little idea of where I would end up and in what capacity. I was fortunate enough to speak to a number of KordaMentha staff throughout my application process and their honesty and helpful advice made my decision to join the firm easy.

Having little business experience outside of university I was both curious as to what the KordaMentha workplace would offer and excited about the challenge of starting work. A highlight of mine was the graduate induction week enjoyed by all graduates from around Australia in our first week at the firm.

The induction week was a great opportunity to form friendships across state borders with other graduates at KordaMentha. Whilst we were put through some informative lectures and taught the basics of the job that lay ahead, we enjoyed a week living together in a hotel and sampling the nightlife that Melbourne offered.

Upon starting at KordaMentha I showed interest in the property field and after working on an appointment in the car industry I was quickly moved onto a large scale property development. This diversity and extensive exposure to various businesses makes KordaMentha an interesting and beneficial place to work."

Michael Scanlan, Senior Business Analyst

"As someone looking to expand upon the theory I had learned at university in a challenging but supportive environment, I found the Vacation Program at KordaMentha the perfect complement to my studies and a great way to get a head start on my career. The opportunity to gain real world experience was an invaluable asset to have heading into my final year of study as it gave me an exciting snapshot of the corporate world and allowed me to gain perspective in my degree.

Since joining KordaMentha as a graduate, I have been exposed to a diverse range of engagements and industries including property development, construction, manufacturing, finance and transport. The opportunity to work on both formal and informal engagements has allowed me to deal directly with clients and key stakeholders. The hands-on nature of our work has also given me the chance to travel across Australia from Perth, Sydney, Mildura and the Gold Coast.

What attracted me to KordaMentha was the opportunity to work in a firm that is at the forefront of our industry, offers an unparalleled amount of work diversification and fosters a culture of professionalism, self-development and fun."

Matthew O’Keefe, Executive Analyst

" In looking and applying for a co-operative position, I focused on reputable organisations offering interesting and diverse work that would broaden the knowledge I had gained through my university studies.

KordaMentha exceeded my expectations with their co-operative program. Not only did it allow a valuable insight into organisational workings, but also provided hands-on work experience as well as several in-house training programs, which helped me to make valued contributions to the firm.

Although, the learning curve was steep, the benefits at the end of the day made the journey well worthwhile. During my co-operative year I worked on a number of diverse formal and in-formal engagements.

KordaMentha helped me during my last year of university, offering casual work based around my full-time contact hours. I gladly accepted a graduate position."

"Commencing in July 2006, I chose to work at KordaMentha to develop my insolvency career and obtain exposure to a variety of assignments within a high calibre team environment.

Having already determined that the dynamic field of insolvency was for me after over four years of insolvency experience, I was looking to develop my career in a firm focused on corporate recovery and corporate advisory services. KordaMentha offers opportunities to work in these disciplines together with its real estate services arm.

The variety of work and nature of formal insolvency appointments was a significant drawcard for me. With an established name for large, complex receiverships and voluntary administrations via its strong business relationships and its growing medium enterprise realm, KordaMentha presented an opportunity for me to share my knowledge and extend my experience in a professional team and rewarding environment."
