Ben has over 12 years experience working with distressed businesses and their respective stakeholders.
Ben has been with KordaMentha since November 2010, and has worked on confidential bank syndicate advisory assignments, Investigating Accountant reports and formal insolvencies.
Prior to joining KordaMentha, Ben was with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), London, where he provided a broad range of financial due diligence, optimised exit, restructuring and other advisory services as part of complex assignments undertaken on behalf of a range of stakeholders, including lenders, senior management, shareholders and government bodies.
In his role at PwC he worked across Europe, with a particular focus on Ireland, where he provided advice in relation to the set up and management of a government entity established to purchase loans from Irish banks as part of the recent bank bailout. He was also seconded to the Clydesdale Bank division of National Australia Bank Group, where he managed a portfolio of distressed loans as part of their Strategic Business Services team.
In addition to these client assignments, Ben had a number of internal roles at PwC, including training UK and European staff in business advisory skills, and coaching senior staff in the application of sales methodology in the delivery of professional services.
Prior to this, Ben was with the Business Restructuring team at BDO, London. In this role he advised clients with a high level of financial distress in relation to negotiating with creditors and formal insolvencies. These included establishing Voluntary Arrangements, as well as managing trading Receiverships and Administrations of large manufacturing and retail groups.
