Brian is a partner with KordaMentha Forensic. He has over 20 years of experience in claims assessments, forensic accounting and independent expert roles.  Prior to joining KordaMentha, Brian was a director in the Forensic division of KPMG, and a loss adjuster within the commercial division of a leading adjusting firm. 


Brian specialises in the provision of forensic accounting services to law firms, government and major corporations, including economic loss assessments, project evaluations, forensic reviews of contracts and payments, post-acquisition disputes, valuations and accounting investigations.


He has been engaged as an independent expert in the Supreme Court of Queensland, the New South Wales Supreme Court, and the Federal Court of Australia.


Additionally, he has prepared independent expert reports for the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Federal Court of Australia, the Family Court of Australia, the International Chamber of Commerce, International Court of Arbitration, and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

Significant Engagements

  • An assessment of the economic loss incurred by a listed exploration and mining company for the purpose of arbitration, following the failure of an independent state to contribute capital to a mining project in accordance with the terms of its agreements.
  • An investigation for a listed energy company into concerns that a number of staff were sabotaging production to drive down bid prices in a foreign takeover.
  • The preparation of a report and assessment of the loss of profit incurred by a global mining company following the failure of a major customer to take its contractual tonnages under a supply agreement.
  • An assessment of consequential costs and loss of profits for the purpose of arbitration following commissioning delays alleged to be the result of deficiencies in newly commissioned gold processing plant.
  • An appointment as expert to investigate the financial dealings of group of companies involved in on-line gambling and a company director after the companies were placed into liquidation.
