Public SectorAn Australian federal regulator engaged KordaMentha to support a complex investigation into the illegal importation and sale of more than 250 tonnes of produce posing a significant biosecurity threat.
The items included turtle meat, frog meat, raw prawns, and other restricted animal and plant products.
Given the scale and sensitivity of the matter, the regulator required independent experts to identify and examine digital evidence across multiple jurisdictions.
KordaMentha Forensic Technology was tasked with collecting and analysing data from mobile phones, computers and other devices suspected to contain material relevant to the investigation.
Over a four-month period, our team supported the execution of 18 search warrants across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, resulting in the seizure and processing of more than seven terabytes of data.
