Overview How we helped Outcomes acheived

KordaMentha was engaged by a premier large-scale events venue to define its target enterprise architecture, identify key platforms and domains, and design a future-state IT operating model to support the organisation’s digital strategy.

The existing IT environment lacked defined services, relied heavily on informal networks, and offered limited prioritisation. Business stakeholders were frustrated by delays and unclear engagement processes. There was also confusion between the roles of the corporate IT team and the operational technology team supporting event delivery.

The organisation required a governance and operating model that could enable its platform-based architecture, support agile delivery, and clarify service responsibilities across teams.

How we helped

Using a structured IT operating model framework, we co-designed a future-state model to support the organisation’s strategic direction.

  • Clarified the goals of the platform-based governance and operating model
  • Co-designed processes with the Agile PMO and IT team to support new ways of working
  • Defined IT services and introduced mechanisms for service reporting
  • Established governance forums and terms of reference
  • Identified core capabilities and assessed where partners could extend capacity
  • Illustrated operational scenarios to demonstrate model interactions
  • Developed a realistic action plan to establish the target model

Outcomes acheived

  • Improved service outcomes: IT reputation uplifted through clearer engagement
  • Agile enablement: Technology embedded into tribes and agile planning
  • Service clarity: Defined IT and operational technology responsibilities
  • Performance tracking: Improved visibility of requests and delivery
  • Governance uplift: Forums and decision-making processes established
  • Capability planning: Action plan created to build internal and partner capacity
  • Stakeholder confidence: Business units better supported through structured engagement
  • Architecture alignment: Operating model designed to enable platform-based strategy
