KordaMentha has welcomed the general availability of Relativity aiR for Case Strategy, a generative AI-enabled solution designed to support complex investigations and litigation matters.
Over recent months, KordaMentha has worked closely with Relativity during an advanced access phase, using the solution in live matters to explore how generative AI can help teams identify key facts and relationships, extract key information and develop clearer case narratives earlier in their processes. With the solution now generally available, KordaMentha is applying that experience more broadly to support clients facing complex disputes and investigations.
Roman Barbera, Forensic Partner at KordaMentha, said the firm’s involvement during advanced access had focused on understanding how the technology could deliver practical value for clients.
“Case strategy presents legal teams, investigators, and subject matter experts with the ability to understand and interrogate data with heightened speed and convenience,” Roman said. “Partnering with Relativity through an advanced access program, we’ve been able to test real-world use cases and explore how generative AI can genuinely support litigators. With the solution now generally available, we can build on that experience and apply proven functionality more broadly to help our clients develop clearer, more robust case strategies.”
Relativity’s solution supports a range of activities across investigations and litigation, including identifying key events, visualising timelines, highlighting gaps in evidence and preparing summaries to support interviews, witness preparation and broader case planning. In leveraging artificial intelligence to achieve this, Case Strategy goes beyond the role of a ‘chronology builder’ and enables subject matter experts to truly amplify the speed and impact they can have on an engagement. Importantly, aiR for Case Strategy is embedded within RelativityOne, allowing KordaMentha’s teams to work within a single secure environment without the need to move between systems. This removes friction, preserves context, and enables teams to move more efficiently from information review to strategic analysis.
Roman added: “Logically, document review, evidence preparation and chronology development should go hand in hand. They are highly co-dependent exercises with a significant overlap in time, effort and cost. Having had the chance to work with Case Strategy has allowed us to consolidate these three processes into one integrated workflow, enabling quicker, more confident and more cost-effective outcomes for clients.”
“KordaMentha has a history of prioritizing innovation and staying ahead of the curve, making their early adoption of aiR for Case Strategy a seamless fit for the firm,” said Laurie Usewicz, Chief Partner Officer at Relativity. “By investing early in both the technology and the training behind it, they’ve positioned their teams to deliver meaningful value from day one.”
KordaMentha has worked with Relativity for many years to support complex investigations and disputes, combining tech-enabled insights with deep forensic, legal and commercial expertise. That collaboration has increasingly focused on the practical application of generative AI, including earlier work with Relativity aiR, which Roman explored here.
