Marija Simich​

Marija is an Executive Director in the Restructuring practice at KordaMentha. Marija’s corporate strategy experience spans the past decade in both management consulting and in-house roles. Her work in the public sector has focused on transport and central agencies, and telecommunications and financial services in the private sector.

• Leading Telecommunications Provider, Growth Strategy: led the development of a new growth strategy in customer acquisition and retention with a ~30% uplift in revenue achieved in the following financial year ​
• Leading Telecommunications Provider, War Games: developed war game scenarios for new MVNO entrants into the market and proposed responses to secure revenue base ​
• Large-scale Insurer, Transformation: led the growth stream for a large-scale insurer targeting revenue uplift in consumer, corporate and regional portfolios ​
• Large-scale Insurer, Operating Model Design: led the operating model redesign working for CEO of one of Australia’s largest insurers ​
• Private Equity Fund, Commercial Due Diligence: undertook a number of commercial due diligences for $500m+ acquisition targets for an Australian private equity fund ​
• VicRoads, Separability Assessment: defined a set of structural options and transition considerations for the separation of the Registration and Licensing business which supported the VicRoads Modernisation transaction ​
• National Rail Operator, Business Case Review: undertook a technology business case review which ultimately secured over $1bn in Federal funding ​
• State Rail Operator, Operating Model Design: undertook a rapid diagnostic and re-design of a metropolitan rail operator to support improved operational delivery during delivery of major works ​
• Private Equity Fund, Commercial Due Diligences: led multiple commercial due diligences across a range of transactions including a health technology business and operational outsourcing centres​
• Department of Premier and Cabinet, Corporate Services Consolidation: developed the strategy for consolidation of shared services which underpinned the establishment of the Dept. of Government Services​
• Department of Premier and Cabinet, Digital Strategy: developed the public-facing strategy and suite of high-profile initiatives for the digitisation of community-facing services and internal operations.

Other experience

• Head of Strategy, leading the Strategy department at the Australian Football League during a significant period of milestone decisions including introduction of a Tasmanian team, renewed commercial contracts with major sponsors and re-launch of women’s league. Led Collective Bargaining negotiation process.
