Overview

After 5 years, the Woodcroft-Brown Group Proceeding was formally closed with the High Court refusing to grant leave to Appeal in April 2014.

Following this, Timbercorp Finance again wrote to all borrowers inviting them to participate in a formal settlement to ongoing litigation.  We are now commencing legal recovery action against those borrowers who have not accepted our settlement offer and remain in default of their obligations.

Despite the commencement of the legal recovery process, our settlement offer remains open for acceptance by all borrowers.  It is our strong preference not to commence individual debt proceedings but rather engage with borrowers to restructure their loans on mutually agreeable terms.

If a borrower is experiencing difficulty in meeting their commitments to Timbercorp Finance it is important that the borrower stay in contact with us. We will work with borrowers through our hardship assistance program and will explore options such as extending the term of a loan agreement to give borrowers time to work through and overcome a period of hardship.
