David Van Homrigh has over 20 years’ experience over a range of professional services, including nine years as the Managing Partner of KPMG’s Forensic division in Australia and a member of the KPMG International Executive of the Forensic business, with responsibility for development of Forensic services globally and in the Asia Pacific region. His experience includes operating at senior levels within federal and state governments, at Board and Audit Committee level and he brings to this role a wide range of commercial and professional experience, together with significant experience in management and leadership, as well as significant experience as an expert witness. Brian Wood is a forensic accountant with over 12 years’ experience in the provision of economic loss assessments, post-acquisition disputes, valuations, insurance claims preparation, and financial investigations. While a director at KPMG Forensic, he acted as independent expert in a variety of state and federal courts, and worked closely with law firms and organisations to provide clarity to the accounting and financial aspects of disputes. Brian’s prior experience included six years within the loss adjusting and crisis management division of a large claims management company where he was involved in the administration and assessment of compensation schemes for business interruption losses arising from catastrophic events. David Van Homrigh said: “Brian and I are delighted to be joining a national team with the structure and expertise to deliver the full range of dispute advisory, investigations, and data analysis services to organisations across Australia and the Asia Pacific. We are looking forward to continuing the delivery of quality forensic services to corporate, government and legal clients in the growing Queensland market, and other states, without the conflicts that can restrict the larger accounting firms.” Mark Korda said: “We are very proud that David and Brian have decided to join KordaMentha Forensics. They bring a wealth of experience to our practice and there is an increasing need, particularly in Queensland, for high quality forensic accountants who do not have the conflicts that restrict the larger accounting firms.” Owain Stone said: “David and Brian are tremendous additions to KordaMentha Forensics. With ten partners and executive directors and over forty forensic professionals across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, we feel we have the bench strength to hand the full range of forensic challenges that law firms, corporates and governments face.” The forensics practice will be further strengthened over the next few weeks with the addition of a number of key forensic professionals who will join David and Brian in the Brisbane team. With their addition, the team has the experience and capacity to service the Queensland market’s demand for forensic expertise including dispute analysis, investigations, forensic IT and e-Discovery.
