The sale of the Arrium steel and mining group to GFG Alliance has been formally approved by the Committee of Creditors, saving thousands of jobs and preserving one of only two steel-makers left in Australia.

Presented by Geraldine Doogue, the weekend's story by Radio National takes a closer look at this complex administration and what has led to the sale instead of a liquidation. Geraldine describes how KordaMentha Partner Mark Mentha and the AWU's National Secretary Daniel Walton, along with their teams, have "devoted themselves night and day" to saving the Arrium Group.
