Tom has broad and varied experience across real estate advisory, transaction management, investment management and asset management which covers distressed and non-distressed situations. He has provided advice to private, institutional and corporate clients across Australia and South-East Asia. A sample of Tom’s experience:

  • Strategic review and advice to the board and executive management of an institutional banking client regarding a $780 million mortgage portfolio.
  • $400 million workout of mixed use development on the Gold Coast incorporating 507 residential apartments, 4,500 sq.m of retail and 7,700 sq.m of commercial office tenancies.
  • Strategic review for institutional banking client on a 22 storey, 44,000 sq.m office building and three level 13,000 sq.m retail centre in Perth with a value of $450 million.
  • Strategic advice and transaction services to mortgage fund in Sydney regarding asset sales and $80 million debt amortisation plan.
  • Structuring, negotiation and advice to equity investors in an $80 million mixed use development incorporating 121 hotel rooms and 112 residential apartments in inner Brisbane.
  • Buy-side due diligence and advice to global investment bank on acquisition of $70 million debt in large, mixed use development in South-East Queensland.
  • Sell-side due diligence for a number of institutional banking clients on sale of debt portfolios backed by real property mortgages.
  • Management of equity investment into $10 million residential development incorporating 21 apartments in inner Brisbane.

Tom returns to Melbourne to lead the Melbourne real estate team and assist with the continued growth of the KordaMentha Real Estate practice. This business includes our market leading real estate advisory practice but now includes a development management business, a real estate funds management business and a residential project marketing business.
