Chris Craner

Chris brings over 30 years of policing experience, including executive leadership roles for the NSW Police Force (NSWPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP).

After decades as a Detective and recent worldwide experience in Cyber and transnational organised crime, Chris is ready to share this investigative experience in the corporate world through KordaMentha.

Building authentic strategic relationships and working with partners has seen Chris transition into his new role and his intention to deliver on KordaMentha's 'Grow, Protect and Recover.'

Chris has a broad experience and external ideas; state, national and international perspectives; wellbeing focused and preparedness to explore new ways of working. He feels strongly that having a safe, secure and resilient workforce is the foundation of ensuring effective service delivery.

Chris was included in the Queens Birthday Honours list and awarded the Australian Police Medal (APM) for his instrumental work in building community confidence throughout open community forums, raising awareness of Domestic and Family Violence and being an advocate for youth diversion and indigenous programs for at risk youth.

Significant engagements

• Established the AFP’s Western Central Command (WCC)
• Led the Western Australia’s approach to Operation Ironside, a three-year, covert, AFP-led investigation into significant organised crime syndicates that were using dedicated encrypted communications device, named AN0M, to traffic illicit drugs and weapons to Australia, as well as order local executions
• Established the AFP’s Security Command which supports the protection of AFP people, information and assets by providing a protective security framework that ensures the secure delivery of AFP objectives.
