Michael Rose

Michael works with public sector clients to address complex strategic, commercial and organisational problems, balance competing stakeholder interests and maximise public value.

Michael’s background combines professional expertise in economics, more than 10 years of consulting experience including at a leading global strategy firm, and lived experience in government in a Director of Strategy role. He is a transport sector specialist.
 

Significant engagements

• For state and federal government departments – designed operating models, developed funding models, conducted strategic project reviews and supported investment decisions including for major infrastructure projects
• For transport departments and railways – prepared strategic transformation plans and secured government support to lift performance, reduce cost and improve customer satisfaction
• For several railways – designed operating models, conducted cost diagnostics, developed revenue growth plans and prepared transformation strategies
• For a large publicly owned Distributed Network Service Provider (DNSP) – re-designed and managed the transition to a new operating model over 12+ months, including developing a roadmap of cost efficiency initiatives
• For the private sector - conducted due diligence of a freight service provider, a large regional airline, an aged care business and an online retailer.
