This year we have made 12 senior promotions across all practice areas, including four Partners and eight Executive Directors. The promotions reflect the growth of the firm’s strategic growth in its real estate advisory practice across Australia, as well as the success of our expansion into financial crime and cybersecurity since the financial crime consultancy Murray Waldren joined KordaMentha last year. Promoted to Partner Rachel Challis Partner | Financial Crime | Melbourne Rachel is a leader in the AML/CTF area in Australia. She has worked across the full regulatory spectrum, leading supervision teams in conducting risk-based engagement, audit and investigation activities. She has also led Australia’s AML/CTF policy capability, was responsible for developing the national supervision strategy, and developed and delivered numerous training and development programs for AUSTRAC staff and for industry. Nick Crockett Partner | Real Estate | Melbourne Nick has more than 20 years’ real estate, finance and management experience across a variety of global markets. He has established and managed multiple platforms within Asia-Pacific for the origination and management of real estate debt and equity capital. He has a long track record of arranging and structuring debt and equity real estate capital for single assets, programmatic joint ventures and commingled funds across multiple countries. David Johnstone Partner | Restructuring | Brisbane David has more than 14 years’ experience in professional services including managing key financial and operational stakeholders, preparing independent business reviews, managing trading controls and procedures for continued operations, managing informal workouts and utilising formal insolvency options for corporate restructures. Sam Woods Partner | Real Estate | Perth Sam’s diverse career spans all asset classes within the property and finance industries. This enables him to consider and address a greater range of factors before implementing and managing an adopted strategy through to completion. He works with a broad variety of clients to find and implement value-add opportunities at any stage in the property cycle. Promoted to Executive Director Roman Barbera Executive Director | Forensic | Sydney Roman’s experience includes eDiscovery, legal technology innovation and legal project management for law firms, corporates and regulators. He has advised government regulators on best-practice workflows and engaged with Australian companies on the potential use cases of legal technology and associated methodologies. Stacey Clisby Executive Director | Restructuring | Brisbane Stacey has considerable experience in the insolvency and restructuring industry including formal insolvency appointments, business review engagements for secured lenders, and advising businesses experiencing financial distress. Paul Hewson Executive Director | Restructuring | Sydney Paul has more than 10 years’ experience in restructuring and insolvency, including considerable expertise in cash flow management, developing and delivering restructuring strategies and running sale processes. Joshua Jeyaraj Executive Director | Restructuring | Singapore Joshua is responsible for turnaround and restructuring services in and around the Asia-Pacific region. Since 2014 he has been involved in various restructuring, performance improvement and insolvency activities in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. Jared Palandri Executive Director | Restructuring | Perth Jared has more than 20 years’ experience in the restructuring, financing and advisory sector. His recent engagements include restructuring an ASX listed gold mine and a reverse mortgage lender, advising a big four bank in relation to its secured debt and a private secured creditor in relation to its debt and liquidating an iron ore mining company.
